Tungsten Products High Density Tungsten Alloy WNiFe WNiCu Heavy Alloys
High density tungsten alloy has density range from 17.0g/cm3 to 18.8g/cm3, which is the twice of steel, more than 1.5 times of lead. It has low thermal expansion coefficient, high strength and high modulus of elasticity.
Tungsten alloys generally are refractory metal, which have two-phase composites consisting of W-Ni- Fe or W-Ni- Cu or even W-Ni-Cu-Fe, some tungsten alloy is added Co, Mo, Cr, etc. They have very high melting point and have a density twice that of steel and are more than 50% heavier than lead. Tungsten content in conventional tungsten alloys varies from 90 to 98 weight percent and is the reason for their high density (between 16.5 and 18.75 g/cc).
High Density Tungsten alloy Main Application:
For making rotors of dynamic inertial materials, the stabilizers of aircraft wings, shielding materials for radioactive materials, containers in hospitals and for radioactive isotope (Cobalt 60), and for material of armor piercing bullets and moulds, etc.
Heavy Tungsten alloy Advantages:
-High density
-Excellent mechanical properties such as high vibration-damping capacity and high Young's modulus.
-Excellent radiation-shielding property
-High thermal conductivity with low thermal expansion coefficient
-Higher high-temperature strength and thermal shock resistance
-High oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance
